Aaron returned from Vietnam on the 4th and loved this trip even more than the last. He cannot wait to get back there to play and love on the sweet kids at the orphanage. He spent the majority of this month recovering from jet lag that he was not expecting to have so bad. I think he is finally back on track and doing well.
We had a week where all of 4 us got sick and we were all on a different antibiotic. We seem to always get hit with sickness right after the first of year but we are doing fine now. Kate just had her ENT check-up and her tubes are still in and working great. We hope they stay in for a while so that we can avoid the ear infections as long as possible.
We ended our month with a pretty fairly, lazy weekend. We started out Saturday morning attending the MDA Stride and Ride Walk which is a charity fundraiser for Muscular Distrophy. It was at the new Cowboys stadium so I can now say that I have been there. Aaron's mom has a form of MD so he supported her this year by leading a team of Credit Union employees in the walk. It was a fun and inspiring event to watch.
This week Ethan's class will be celebrating the 100th day of school so he was given a few projects to do for this fun day. We spent our Sunday working on these things. He first had to fill a bag with objects ranging from 0 to 100. His class will estimate and practice counting to 100 with the objects. We chose conversation hearts because that is what we had the most of in the house. We then had to decorate a shirt that he will wear on Thursday with 100 things attached to it. We safety pinned 7 packages of smarties totaling 100 of course to his shirt. Our last project was a poster with 100 items on it. Ethan is really into gumballs lately so we made a gumball machine and hot glued 100 pom poms to the poster. It was a fun but productive day. I can only imagine how more involved his projects are going to get as he gets older.
100 smartiesThis week we will celebrate Kate's 2nd birthday. I can't believe it is already here so stay tuned for a blog about her special day.
