It has finally started feeling like Fall here in Texas. The weather has been gorgeous for the most part. It can still get a little hot in the afternoons but very cool and pleasant in the mornings and evenings. We have tried to spend some time outside after dinner to enjoy it a little bit. We also made a deal with Ethan, well really we just told him that when he turned 6 1/2 on Sept. 23rd that we were taking his training wheels off his bike. We tried before and he really struggled so we put them back but this time we are hoping he gets it. He is very scared and has very little confidence so we are trying to practice as much as we can.
It is hard to see but here is a pic of Ethan riding while Aaron is running behind him (which is very hard work and very hard on the knees).
The Fall in Texas also means it is State Fair time. I loved going to the fair growing up however, Aaron did not go as a child and doesn't really get why people like it so much, not to mention it is ridiculously expensive but we decided to venture out this year. It was a good family day and we only did what the kids wanted to so we spent a lot of time in the animal section and a short time in the Midway. Kate loved feeding the baby goats and Ethan liked going through a fun house in the Midway. Here are a few pics from our day.
Kate planting seeds at the pretend Farm. The kids followed the maze and worked the farm and then were paid play money for their efforts. Once they were done, they got to use their money to buy a snack in the general store. I thought this was a great lesson in farming and they had fun doing it.
I was able to capture a very sweet pic of my 2 little monkeys.
Ethan feeding or at least pretending to feed the baby goat.
Kate would have stayed right here with this goat all day if we would've let her.
