Moving Right Along

February has passed, however it did seem like it flew by and it was also a very busy month for us. We ended February with some fun activities at school for both kiddos. We had a petting zoo at preschool and Kate enjoyed this immensely. One of her favorite things is animals and she was able to walk around a small pen with with all of them. She loved it. Her favorite was the bunny rabbits but unfortunately those things moved way too fast for me to get a picture of her with them. I did, however catch her petting this black spotted pig.

Ethan participated in his first Jump Rope for Heart activity in his P.E. class at school. I remember doing this as a kid so it was fun to have him participate in it as well. They did their normal warm up routine in P. E. and then had different stations set up for the jump roping.

Kate also had western day at school this past week. There were pony rides and hot dogs for lunch. Although she loves animals and wanted to sit on the pony, she wasn't so sure about riding and going around in circles. The funny thing is, her pony was white with a hot pink mane and glitter on its hooves. It was cute but I felt a little sorry for the poor pony.

Ethan has been doing great in school. He is reading like crazy and impresses me everyday with all of the new things he is learning. This past week he got to read an entire book to the class while sitting at the teacher's chair. His teacher needed some time to clean up the tables and asked him to read a book to the whole class while she was finishing up. Those of you who know Ethan, know what a huge deal this is. He is so shy and gets very overwhelmed with crowds, that I almost did not believe that he did this but he did. I wish I could have been there to see it. We are so proud of him. He has had a couple of rough months as far as behavior goes but he has been doing so well these past few weeks. As a reward he asked if he could sleep in his igloo tent in the living room this weekend. He had been asking to do this for several weeks so he was very excited.
March is moving right along and seems to be getting just as busy as February. We have a few things to look forward to over the next few weeks. A trip to Beavers Bend over Spring Break, Ethan will be turning 6 years old, we have also started a new season of T-ball, and we will end our month celebrating Scott/PawPaw's 60th birthday. Phew...busy month but lots of fun things happening.
