Swimming Lessons

Swimming lessons this year have come and gone but what a difference a year makes. This was Ethan's third year to take from Ms. Tina and although I have been very proud of Ethan, at the end of last year's lesson he was still scared to put his face in the water. This year he overcame his fear and had so much confidence. He is swimming like a fish and loving every minute of it. Ms Tina was able to teach him so many more things this year like the breast stroke and the back stroke. He is even using diving toys and pushing himself down to retrieve them at the bottom of the pool. Way to go Ethan, we are so proud of how well you are swimming!
Kate also took lessons this year for the first time. I mainly wanted her to get familiar with the water so that she is not scared. Well, bless Ms Tina because she was so patient with Kate. As you know Kate is a mover and shaker and her attention span only last so long. She just wanted to play in the water and jump in over and over again. Every time Ms Tina would say scoop your arms or kick your feet, Kate would say "No!" and would not do it. Ms Tina would not miss a beat and just kept trying, hopefully next year Kate will be more interested in learning to actually swim. She is my fearless one and definitely needs to be safe in the water. Here is Kate with her goggles that are way too big for her head but she has to be just like her bubba.
